Every Seller on Amazon has a vendor ID that is associated with their seller account. This ID can be used in a number of ways. If you are looking for a competitors ID to help resolve issues easily with customer support or looking for your own vendor ID then these steps will help you find it. The vendor ID isn’t used that often but in the past, I have needed to use it. So I figured I would share this with everyone since it isn’t the most straight forward way of obtaining the ID.
Step 1: Search For a Product
Go to Amazon and search for your listing or your competitors. It can be any product. As long as it is sold by you or the seller you are looking to obtain the id from.
Step 2: Ships and Sold By Section
On the right-hand side of the screen you will have to click the vendor’s name in the Ships from and sold by section. This will take you to that vendor’s storefront. where you can see that vendors ratings.
Step 3: Check URL
In your browser highlight the URL at the top of the page for the main storefront. Look through the URL until you find “&seller=.”. This is normally located toward the end of the URL.
Step 4: Copy and Paste
There should be a series of letters and numbers following the “&seller=”. These letters and numbers are that sellers Amazon vendor ID. Just copy and paste them where ever you may need it.
This is a rather simple guide but as I said it isn’t that straight forward but is the easiest way to get yours or your competitors vendor ID. If you have any questions or comments please leave them down below.
